Sectors
The South London Lifelong Learning Network Construction and Engineering sector encompasses nine further education colleges and three universities who offer a broad range of courses in construction and engineering from entry level to postgraduate qualifications.
Employers and employees working in the Construction and Engineering sectors work in a rapidly changing environment influenced by economic fluctuations, changes in demographics and adjustments in labour market demand that are often the consequence of once in a generation projects like Cross Rail and the London 2012 Olympic developments. One way of staying competitive in this increasingly challenging environment is to access the opportunities provided by higher level study. Research suggests that companies who invest in their workforce are more likely to increase their productivity, retain staff for longer and have a happier and more motivated workforce.
If you are an employer, Reach Higher will give you an opportunity to meet representatives from the colleges and universities across the South London region who offer higher level construction and engineering courses. You will be able to find out what’s on offer, discover more about flexible, part-time and distance learning provision which would allow your staff to combine study and work. You will also find a range of workshops and one to one advice sessions where experts will be pleased to discuss your needs and explore how a better qualified workforce can help improve your business.
If you are an individual working in the sector, you can find out everything you need to know about career progression or any aspect of higher-level study.
